My largest tobacco-style basket to date, the work recollects a magical yet wistful evening spent with a friend over 40 years ago. Perhaps as an apology, I was recently presented with a photograph reminiscent of that evening that subsequently inspired this basket. The image of the barn's roof under the Milky Way chronicles the long-lost starry night. Elton John's song of the same title exemplifies the melancholy of that personal loss, as well as the passing of the magical era of the 1970s.
