Painted Desert, Sequined Sky, Stars that Fill the Night is my offering for the 2026 semiquincentennial birthday of the United States. The title is borrowed from lyrics from the band Kansas' 1975 song entitled "Song for America", written by guitarist Kerry Lingren. Honoring the beauty and plentifulness of our country, the lyrics nevertheless warn us to conserve and protect her.
